Our home was our very first labor of love. We learned a lot about home design, renovation, styles, and *patience* with this one! Over the course of a few years and after living in the space for a while, we were able to work room-by-room to update each space to reflect our personal style and the way we live. Our spaces are designed and curated to our needs as a family and gave us opportunities to experiment with new skills, design risks, and learn all about the art of creating a space we love.
Our Home
From our kitchen and living area first, to each of three bedrooms and finally a bathroom, we have gutted each room practically down to the studs. If you could see the before, you’d really appreciate the after. (we will have some highlights and posts to show the process on our Instagram page!)
We’ve had so much fun working through our desired design for each room in our home, and learning about the design and construction process along the way. From replacing flooring, all furniture, installing an entirely new kitchen, rearranging the layout of our one bathroom, and living in it the entire time (eek!), we have loved seeing our home come to life together as a result of so much hard work.
Reflecting a cozy, traditional design with a nod to modern coastal, our home feels just like ours. We wanted our home to reflect the feeling of where we live, Cape Cod, and also reflective of the classic design of New England homes. We always look for quality furniture and finishes to make sure they last, and every decision for each element was meticulously thought out. From tile choices to the layout pattern of the tiles, incorporating my parents’ 30 year old butcher block tabletop for our island, designing my perfect home office, and renovating our bedroom into a sanctuary we can enjoy, this home has become a place of comfort and happiness for us.
